So if your drift fishing, you must be flossing fish... WRONG! Drift fishing is an age old technique that has been used to catch salmon, steelhead, trout, catfish, and more! Drift fishing when done the right way can be insanely deadly. Another technique actually legal in certain states is called flossing. This is when you intentionally try to snag the fish by flossing the line into their mouths. Flossing is a popular harvesting method in some places where it's legal. It is an “accepted” method for placing a hook in the corner of a fish’s mouth that isn’t interested in biting. Basically your snagging the fish.
