TWO SECONDS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I stopped by yesterday to visit with my son at his coffee shop. After we covered a number of subjects, it was time to head home, so I cranked up the old El Camino and turned right on 2nd Street. It's just two blocks to my next turn, which happens at the railroad track. As I approached, the red lights and the dinger began to sound off. It's when I noticed I had just passed my escape route two seconds before that.
For the next eight minutes or so, I suffered through the longest and slowest freight train I have ever seen, and those two seconds altered my time frame and the events that would unfold for me for the next few hours. Only God and the Angels know the details.
When we quote the scripture concerning angels and how they lead us and that the lord orders the steps of a good person, we wonder how exactly that is.
It's not unusual to hear a testimony of someone who missed an accident because of a two-second delay. A few years ago, my daughter was coming home from work and was slow down in thick traffic. If that had not happened, she might have been on the bridge that fell into the river a few minutes ahead.
How much do we trust the guidance of our angels and the Holy Spirit nudging as we move through the day? And the second question is, how do we know how God is leading us? Unfortunately, there is no simple and straight answer to that question for us because there are many layers in his communication with us.
For instance, that communication system ranges from God's audible voice to a thought in your mind.
The challenge we have as developing and maturing sons and daughters of God is to learn all of the many ways he communicates to us. Some of those ways can be taught to us by others, while many of them have to be caught by the Holy Ghost.
Just two seconds can change your life forever.
