🔴 LIVE REPLAY: COD - FRIDAY: ON THE ROAD TO GOLD
ABOUT THE GAME: Every year, a new Call of Duty title is released, and these days, that means one thing – a new Ranked mode. It’s a proving ground for the most skilled and talented players in the game, and it offers a broader challenge than typical, unranked multiplayer matches. For those chasing the Call of Duty ranks, one thing is for certain: the only way is up. As of 2023, there are COD ranks to be gained in Ranked modes across Warzone, the traditional multiplayer titles (like Modern Warfare II), and COD Mobile.
For the most part, Call of Duty ranks in these Ranked modes are very simple, offering up an accessible ladder system that anyone can get to grips with. However, it may not be immediately obvious to a newcomer how these ranks work, or how to rank up in Call of Duty. Although, this is information that everyone needs – if you’re trying to scale up the Call of Duty ranks, this is a guide that you won’t want to miss.
In October 2022, Modern Warfare II was released, and then several months later, Ranked Play was added to the game through an update. This was introduced to coincide with the ongoing Call of Duty League, giving players the opportunity to compete on a much more challenging stage. It was a massive success, bringing players back into the fold who were originally disappointed by the game’s lack of a Ranked, competitive platform.
Fortunately, the COD ranks featured in Modern Warfare II’s Ranked Play are remarkably easy to understand and navigate. They’re based on ‘Skill Rating’, which is a figure attributed to every player based on how they actually play the game. It’s driven up mostly by wins – or driven down by losses – but it’s also impacted by individual performances throughout the game.
Here are the Call of Duty ranks for MWII, including the Skill Rating bracket needed to secure them:
Bronze I, II, III – 0-899 SR
Silver I, II, III – 900-2,099 SR
Gold I, II, III – 2,100-3,599 SR
Platinum I, II, III – 3,600-5,399 SR
Diamond I, II, III – 5,400-7,499 SR
Crimson I, II, III – 7,500-9,999 SR
Iridescent – 10,000 SR minimum
Top 250 – 10,000+ SR
Top 250 is a unique category, and with the reset coming every season, players race to get into this prestigious realm of Ranked Play. It’s populated quite heavily by some of the best Call of Duty players in the game, and it’s a long climb to get to it from Bronze, which is where every player starts out.
