Can the Rosenberg Case be Reopened? (1975)
119
On June 19, 1953, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed by electrocution after being wrongly accused of giving secrets on the production of atomic weapons to the Soviet Union. Their trial was a political one, based off of the American exceptionalist and anti-communist view that the Soviet Union was not technologically advanced enough to harness nuclear energy on its own.
This film includes interviews with Robert Meeropol, son of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, as well as attorneys Ben Margolis and Luke McKissack, all interviewed by Robert Carl Cohen. They examine the numerous flaws in the examination and conviction of the Rosenbergs, demonstrating the need to reopen the Rosenberg case.
