2023_06_11_AM_Fair Weather Friends

As Jesus faces the Cross in Matthew 26:26-46ff, his disciples show human weakness in their time of trial. While they love Jesus: "...the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." (v41)

Although their courage was regained after Jesus' Resurrection and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit: the challenge remains in all of us.

Their weakness, like ours, added to Jesus' frustration as he fulfilled his purpose on Calvary. We must pray for courage to be 'dependable' followers when the storm gathers and the risk is high - particularly relevant in these times.
