Is .380 Effective? Shooting my Carhartt Coat (Instant Regret)

On today's episode of things I'll probably regret... I mean Idaho Rifleman... I am going to shoot one of my heavy Carhartt coats to see if the popular myth I have heard about .380 is true.

Mrs. Rifleman has heard it. I have heard it. You probably have too... "You have to use FMJ ammo if you are going to carry .380 in the winter time because it is so weak it will just bounce off of a heavy winter coat."

I was told this by the guy behind the counter as I was buying this Springfield 911... Let's see if it's true!!
