The Power of the Word of God

Many folks in our day don't fully appreciate the power of the word of God. Some go so far as to call it dead letter apart from the annointing of the Holy Spirit. Some preachers say that preaching the word of God itself, no matter how accurately and passionately, has zero ability to convert or convict or educate unless there is some special work of God or the Holy Spirit present. This is all a mistake. While we ought to have as much of the filling and power of the Spirit as we can get, the power of the word stands on its own and does not depend on us.
