2023 Candidate for San Antonio City Council District 3 - Erin Gallegos Reid

Erin Gallegos Reid is a candidate running for San Antonio City Council District 3 on May 6, 2023.

Erin is a community-oriented leader who is dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in her district. She supports community input and wants to create neighborhood forums for residents to voice their concerns and inform them about available services. Erin is passionate about public safety and has already worked with SAFFE Officer Torres to help curb speeding in the school zone on her street and disband a homeless encampment.

Erin's policies focus on creating a safe and clean community by removing, rehabilitating, and fostering strays, disbanding homeless encampments, removing debris, reclaiming bike lanes, and stopping street racing. She wants to advocate for more ACS officers in D3, see a renewed partnership with the City and the Humane Society to operate the Brooks Spray/Neuter Clinic and expand it to include a no-kill center, and see more Code Compliances officers, including evening and weekend patrol. Additionally, she wants to see more SAPD SAFE officers in their area, as well as traffic patrol.

Erin is against PROP A and refers to it as the (In)justice Charter. She believes that it will embolden theft up to $750, expand cite and release, and allow contraband in jails. Instead, she advocates for policies that will improve public safety without compromising the rights of the community. As a private citizen and community leader, Erin has demonstrated her commitment to making a positive change in her community, and she hopes to continue doing so as the next San Antonio Council District 3 representative.
