MY FIRST HERMES | Unbox the Hermes Oran sandals with me

After eyeing them for over a year, I finally decided to purchase the Hermes Oran sandals. I had gone back and forth on buying these sandals for almost a year and, after a botched attempt at buying them second hand (story short is they ended up being fakes - thanks RealReal), I debated buying them online off the Hermes site. I knew I had a work trip coming up that would bring me to the Wynn in Las Vegas where they have a Hermes boutique. So I held off until I could try them on in person. The couple months of waiting were the hardest part!

My work trip took me to Las Vegas for almost a week and I put off visiting the Hermes boutique until the last day. This was my first visit to a Hermes store and, after hearing poor reviews about how snooty everyone working in the boutique was, I was a little nervous about visiting. On my last day of the trip, I had time to kill after eating breakfast and waiting for my afternoon flight. The boutique had just opened up, so I thought "what the heck" it was now or never!

The store was a beautiful two story with mosaic tile floor showing the Hermes logo. The bottom floor had scarves and leather goods (including a beautifully made English riding saddle!). The second floor was shoes, men's and women's clothing.

The first sales person was a little aloof, but after I asked for the Oran sandals she directed me to the second floor. I found the sandals and a sales attendant asked if I needed any help. She brought me my size and after I blathered on for a bit and asked her questions, she started to be much friendlier. I am usually a size 8, but I tried on the size 39 and size 38.5. I ended up getting the 38.5 due to the length of the sandal.

After I told the sales associate that I would take them, she offered to show me anything else in the store and even checked the back for me for a wallet I was looking at. Very friendly service, they wrapped my Oran sandals up in the well known Hermes ribbon and bag and I was on my way. Overall an enjoyable experience and a memorable one for me!
