Pacific Fleet exercises continue in Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhotsk

◽️ Naval anti-submarine aircraft practised searching for and destroying enemy submarines from and carried out aerial refuelling.

✈️ The aircraft took off from an airfield in Kamchatka. As part of the practical actions, the crews comprehensively used radar and hydroacoustic detection equipment and systematised and analysed the information obtained from them. The pilots detected a mock enemy submarine, classified it and then tracked it. All received data was transmitted to a shipboard search and strike teams operating in the exercise area.

◽️ On some parts of the route, the anti-submarine aircraft were escorted by MiG-31 high-altitude interceptors.

◽️ As a parallel task, naval aviation aircraft were involved in anti-aircraft defence training for the units of ships involved in the exercise plan. The servicemen simulated the actions of enemy aircraft. For their part, the ship-based air defence units improved their practical skills in repelling attacks by enemy air assets.

In accordance with the plan of training of military command of the Pacific Fleet for 2023 in the period from June 5-20 under the leadership of the commander of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Viktor Liin an operational exercise of dissimilar forces of the fleet in the far maritime zone is being conducted. More than 60 warships and support vessels of the fleet, about 35 naval aviation aircraft, coastal troops and over 11,000 servicemen are involved. #mod_russia_en
