Now, we’ve got to preempt something bound to show up in the comments. There’s obviously a mental health dynamic going on here, but… you can have mental health issues without being racist & saying the n-word.

When these situations happen, there are only two possibilities. Possibility 1, she is racist, & the mental health issue is taking the cork out & letting the racist inside spill out to the outside (like what happens when under the influence of certain substances). Possibility 2, she’s not racist & the mental health problem made her do it.

Which is more likely? Given the prevalence of racism in this country, possibility 1. I don’t believe option 2 is actually a possibility. But say it is. Then what? Then she is suffering the collateral damage of YT Supremacy. One, that’s not our fault, and two, her grievances are lost under mountains of all the grievances of our people. When those have all been addressed & redressed, maybe we can come back around to hers.

So… when we see racist behavior, sober, drunk, of a sound mind, or altered, we’re going to call out the behavior & seek that they receive consequences for their action. Too few racists receive consequences, so we’re not going to ease up on the gas out of fear of accidentally catching a non-racist in the midst. Punishing racists is one tiny lever of power that deters some from airing out their racism publically, & we won’t sacrifice that tool in order to protect possible non-racist victims (if they even exist).
