Off roading in the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway Wayne Benson Rd.

05/11/2023 - Spring 2023 - Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway day1, Wayne Benson West to East

This is day one of the Spring 2023 DBBB ride. Rides on days 1 & 2 are impromptu rides mostly for trail leaders to pre-run their routes prior to the actual event day ride on Saturday. The is Wayne Benson from West (Hwy 36) to East (Johnson Hollow). Previously I did the trail from East to West in my General Bowen coverage from 4/14-15/23 I hesitated to re-do the entire trail however it is quite a bit different from this direction and a little bit easier as you are going down hill for the difficult parts. I still has the 2 main obstacles and a few more ruts making it a medium trail difficulty of about 4-5 depending on your ability and equipment. I am on 33’s as is most everyone else, but we did have a couple of stock vehicles as well with a couple including the trial leader on 35s..
