In this little tutorial we are talking all about wet on wet watercolours. Consider it a primer for beginners in wet on wet and loose watercolour sketching where we will cover the basics to get you started.

Wet on wet watercolours can be scary at the start - so loose, so free, so uncontrollable? Well actually, they're beautiful and easy, and if you are a beginner this should give you a good start in how to paint with wet on wet watercolour paints.

It's also how I love painting - whether I'm sketching with a pen, or watercolours, or both - the colour part is always loose and lively. Watercolours just love to paint themselves, if you let them.
