The Kinks have always been one of the Best and Most Important Bands in Roll the Rock Music, because of the Songwriting abilities of Ray Davies...Ray not only wrote great Songs, but his Lyrical content was Pure Truth, with Ray often focusing on Personal Truths that most didn't want to hear, such as Dealing with the Human Ego and Left Brain dominance...

In this Brilliant Song, Destroyer, Davies sets out a character that we have ALL Known at times in our Life, it's a Self Destructing Man because he lives in FEAR; thus, he's not really living at all, rather he is only ever REACTING to what Life has to offer him, which is constant problems and endless moments where Left Brain Paranoia can reign Supreme, causing us to do countless insane things, all in the name of Paranoia, and believe me, if you allow to, it WILL DESTROY YOU...

So, take a Deep Breath and really listen to the lyrics, as this character is what we must work hard, on the Path that is Strait and Narrow, to AVOID at all costs...because when we allow ourselves to be taken by Fear, and fall into the role of a Self Destructing Man, what comes next is your Life falling apart, until such time that most beg for Death...
