Big shoutout to the many people that grew up in care that might not realise that there are collective communities of care experienced people forming both offline and in the realms of online social media.

Would you like to use your experiences to help make a positive impact on the next generations of children in care?

If I hadn't of written my Poems From a Runaway book (my story of being a child runaway living on the streets) I would never have come across the care experienced community whilst getting on Twitter to promote it.

There are many people from the care system out there that navigated through the good times and the bad without the basic family framework that a lot of other people around them tend to have. The effects on mental health, the disadvantages and the the toll such a life can take can often be overlooked by people that don't understand it, but if this is you, you're not alone!

You can find the care experienced community on social media, particularly on Twitter by searching for taglines such as 'Care experienced' , 'support for care leavers' #CEP (care experienced person) and I'm sure you'll find many others on your quest for others that might not know that this is 'a thing'.
