Can "Cis" or "Cisgender" be a slur in any context? | A reaction to the REEEaction

Elon Musk recently declared that on Twitter "Cis" and "Cisgender" will be considered a slur in certain circumstances. Some people seemed to take it a targeted attack on them and anyone who happens to be like them. I read through one particular reaction and try to better understand why some people believe this is how they should act.
