I recently purchased the Leupold RX-2800 TBR Laser Rangefinder and I must say, it is a great product. It has replaced my previous inferior rangefinder and I am now getting good readings on trees and sagebrush out to 1700 yards.
I had returned a Vortex rangefinder, which was about $100 less, as it was unable to range a 4x4 white steel plate on an overcast day at 700 meters, while mounted to a tripod.
This represents ideal conditions for a laser rangefinder. The Leupold, on the other hand, blew the Vortex out of the water. I drove around testing it out today and was able to range targets out to 1,700 meters handheld from an unsupported position.
Simply amazing! One of the reasons why I love this rangefinder is because of its True Ballistic Range with Wind (TBR-W) technology. It accounts for incline, range to target, and my ballistics information.
This is extremely helpful for me as someone who enjoys ELR shooting, as I cant imagine a more useful tool. Another feature I appreciate is the 3 Reticle Options - Plus Point, Duplex, and Duplex with Plus Point.
This gives me the option to choose the reticle that works best for my needs. The scan mode is also very useful as it provides continuous range updates that keep me on target as I track movement or scan an area.
The Leupold RX-2800 TBR Laser Rangefinder is 100% waterproof and fogproof. This means I dont have to worry about it getting damaged in inclement weather conditions.
Additionally, it is backed by Leupolds gold ring 2-year electronics warranty, which gives me peace of mind knowing I am covered should anything happen to it.
The operation of this rangefinder is easy and spot-on. It is quick and accurate and makes my previous rangefinder, the ARC 1000, look horrible. The scan is also very useful, but it takes a second to catch up.
However, Ive ranged rocks out to 1700+, which is impressive. Overall, the Leupold RX-2800 TBR Laser Rangefinder is well worth the money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality and reliable rangefinder.
