Did Fallen Angels Marry Humans and Create a Race of Giants?

One passage in Genesis which has resulted in some misinterpretation has led some to ask "Does Genesis teach that angels married human women and had giant offspring?" "Can angels marry humans?"

This question arises from misunderstanding of Genesis 6 verses 1 and 2. "Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose."

The meaning of this section of Scripture is much debated, with some concluding that it refers to fallen angels marrying humans, and spawning a race of giants. Others in the past have used this passage to foster wrong and racist teachings. The term giant used in this scripture refers to someone of very large size or stature. One question that comes to mind is: Can angels create offspring with human women? In Luke chapter 20, Jesus Christ said that they cannot:

"Jesus replied, 'The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels.'"
