How The System Protects Its Own

The system exists solely to protect and perpetuate itself. Why suffer the backlash of engaging in corrupt behavior when you can simply pay someone else to do it for you? In our country, there is a clear, connected system of individuals whose entire careers are based around advancing and serving the system.
