Range Day 1: Fun and Educational Day on the Range┃ Firearms and Tactical Training

We had the honor to train with our friends Steven (Destiny) and Melina on the shooting range. Neither one of them are “new” to guns, but they both wanted more knowledge and experience in the basic shooting principles and fundamentals.

We started with each platform separately, pistol, then rifle. Eventually we moved onto primary weapon engagements (rifle) with transition to secondary (pistol) when primary goes down. In terms of targets, we used a combination of paper silhouette and steel.

Some of the things we focused on were:
- Mindset
- Stopping a threat (use of force)
- Identifying the danger
- Pistol/rifle safety
- Basic knowledge of the pistol/rifle
- Pistol/rifle considerations
- Pistol/rifle manipulation
- Loading/unloading procedures
- Reloads
- Malfunctions
- Injured shooter engagements (one handed shooting, pistol only)

This training session included the Intuitive Defense Hybrid Handgun 1 and Hybrid Long Gun 1 Training Courses.
