Shadow Empire Beta Patch News: Tech 3, Solar and Engine Power

Finally, the problem of Solar Power being a dominant strategic choice is starting to be addressed. It doesn't quite go far enough, in my opinion, but this is a welcome change nonetheless, and a sign that the developer is really starting to look at the fine detail QoL issues in Shadow Empire.

Open Beta Patch v1.21e addresses the concerns of some players over the viability of starting on Tech Level 3, along with a much needed nerf to Solar Power, some interesting changes to the private economy, movement for very heavy guns and their transport with overpowered engines.

You'll need to download and install it (for Matrix) or opt into the beta (for Steam). GOG people will have to wait a bit as they don't support regular open beta patches.
