On June 15th, Darell Preston was minding his business by his food cart, LoRell’s Chicken Shack, on Foster Road in Portland, OR. He was busy talking to his wife about a delivery when a YT man came out of nowhere and viciously attacked him from behind, screaming the N-word as he smashed his fist into Preston’s face and stomped him into the ground. Drivers pulled over, honking and yelling at him to stop which was enough to cause him to flee the scene. He suffered a broken nose, fractured face, and lacerations to his eyes and mouth. He is dealing with both the physical and psychological trauma from the attack.

A week after the attack, LoRell’s Chicken Shack posted an update letting people know that the police had finally gotten involved and had identified a suspect. It’s been a week since, and he still hasn’t been publicly identified. At this point, it will likely be people on social media that identify him first.
