Japanese Army vs. Killer Crocodiles, Burma 1945 💥🔫🪖💀🐊

In January 1945, forces of the Indian XV Corps landed on Ramree and the neighboring island of Cheduba, to establish airfields for the supply of the mainland campaign. The battle is known for the Japanese soldiers killed and eaten by massive Salt Water Crocodiles inhabiting the mangrove swamps and waterways of Ramree. Between 500 to 1,000 soldiers were eaten. To this day, it still holds the record for the most people killed by Crocodiles.

These attacks were exacerbated by soldiers hunting the wildlife, like fish and wild boar, that the Crocodiles subsisted upon for food. With their food supply drying up, aggressive Crocodiles (some weighing between 1 and 2 tons, stretching 17 to 20 feet long) began hunting the soldiers tasked with crossing through their swamps, mangroves and fetching water.
