I have fancied getting an EMF meter for a while, so I could get an idea of how much background radiation of different sorts there is in my house and outside.

In the box, you get the meter itself, a USB recharging cable and a well written and easy to read user guide. Build quality is lightweight and all plastic but robust and it seems made to last.

The 14 x 6.5 x 3.2 cm, 147g unit has a backlit LCD screen which can be switched from a white to dark theme. Below the screen are proper clicky buttons for Unit Type, Average/Peak display, Power/Hold, Graph on/off, Sound on/off, Mode. On the bottom is the micro-USB charging port and on the top is the front facing sensor. The screen top display has icons or displays for Auto Off status, Audio on/off status, Reading Type (EE/MF/RF), Average reading, Radiation Level (Good/Bad), Hold Status. The main part of the screen shows the current reading graphic, detailed reading level, current testing unit, and the peak value.

This £59 device sits pretty much mid-way in the range of available EMF meters. It is good enough for serious use and a step up from the simple flashing light ghost hunting models, but not as powerful or well specified as these designed for professional use. The main limitation is that unlike the more expensive tri-field meters this one has a single sensor port at the front of the device and does not detect all around radiation using multiple ports. Also, it cannot export data for external analysis.

That said, the 14 x 6.5 x 3.2 cm, 147g unit it works well and is easy to use with a clear and simple display and is powered by a rechargeable battery. It measures electronic (EF), magnetic (MF) and radio frequency (RF) emissions. It displays average or peak readings with a real-time graph or standard display on a backlit LCD display which can be set to a white or dark background.

You can use it, for example, to check electronic radiation from power lines, RF emissions from your router, or magnetic output from your microwave or electric motors. It can be instructive to test the electronic pollution from all the devices in your home as well as from external power lines and cell towers.

There are many similar rivals but if you need a well-specified but simple to use EMF meter at a reasonable price, then this would be a decent buy.
