Overall, I highly recommend this surfboard for beginner to intermediate kids or smaller individuals. Its lightweight, fast, and well-built. The included story and mantra about surfing are a great touch and add to the overall experience.
However, I wouldnt recommend it for true adult beginners or individuals larger than 56" and 150#. The board is very loose and not well-suited for learning how to pop up unless the rider is a very small child.
It floats well for its size but may feel small to larger individuals. For my daughter, who is 9 and about 4.5ft tall, this board is a great fit and she finds it easy to paddle.
The leash may feel flimsy, but its easily replaceable, and the fins seem better quality than some other soft top fins on the market. Its only been a few weeks, but we are impressed with the boards performance so far.
