Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare Ps1 Full Gameplay

Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare is one of the games in the Alone In The Dark series, a precursor to horror games. Released in 2001 for Windows, Dreamcast, Playstation, Game Boy Color and Playstation 2, Darkworks focused on the game's graphics and tried to balance the action part with the suspense. It was re-released in 2012 for Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable, through the PSN service.
History

On October 31, 2001, supernatural detective Edward Carnby investigates a dangerous mystery: the disappearance of his colleague, Charles Fiske, on Shadow Isle. His investigation leads him to a man named Frederick Johnson, who informs him that Fiske is dead and that he had headed to the island to collect three ancient tablets. Carnby then makes it his life's mission to find his friend's killer. Johnson introduces Carnby to Aline Cedrac, a university professor and archaeologist. She must follow Edward to the Island to find the tablets, and help Professor Obed Morton, who lives there, in his mansion.

While they are flying over the coast of the Island, their plane is attacked by a strange creature, and as a result, it breaks down, forcing Aline and Edward to jump with a parachute. As the plane crashes into a swamp, Aline lands on the roof of Morton Manor, and Edward in a nearby forest. The game then begins (you will choose one of the two protagonists to start the adventure and both will have different challenges and stories to follow), where Edward tries to reach the mansion to find Aline, where then the two can think about what to do next.

Along the way, both encounter the game's monsters, the so-called "Creatures of Darkness", reptilian beings who later discover that they originate from the center of the Earth: a huge, dark cave world, called the "World of Darkness". Apparently, Shadow Isle contains one of several portals to this subterranean world. Living up to their names, such creatures have an aversion to light, making the flashlight that both protagonists have useful for scaring away the creatures and using magnesium bullets, and phosphorus cartridges as ammunition derived from light to kill them.
