BYB 18’s Marko Martinjak Calls for Jarome Hatch Rubber Match in BKB

Marko Martinjak halted Jarome Hatch via TKO in the second round of their Police Gazette cruiserweight world diamond title rematch at BYB 18

‘MMM’ felt very happy to get a redemptive win after being stopped in the first round by Hatch during their initial bout. Martinjak felt more optimally prepared this time than the first fight in Dubai at BYB 16.

This BYB vs BKB showcase featured a lot of massive crossover fights and Martinjak vs Hatch II was the co-main event of this deep, historic card.

Martinjak felt like he delivered what he said pre-fight in cutting Hatch. That being said though, some were saying the stoppage may have been a tad controversial with Hatch himself also seeming to take umbrage with the ref’s call.

When asked to give his thoughts on the fight ending sequence, Martinjak said, “Listen, I think the stoppage is good because he was cut. His cut was here (gestures to above the eye) and his eye was shut. So it’s only make; if we continue the fight, I’m only going to hurt him bad better. So I told him, let’s fight for a third time.”

“Listen and I tell everybody London is my hometown. This is third fight for bare-knuckle that I fought in London and won. First time, I defended my cruiserweight belt. In December, I won super middleweight BKB and Police (Gazette). Now I won cruiserweight Police. So it’s my happy, happy town.”

‘MMM’ said he’d gladly run it back for a rubber match following Hatch facilitating an immediate rematch. Martinjak did mention he wants the tiebreaker fight inside of a BKB ring this time though with the European league’s ruleset instantiated.

The PG and BKB champ said he felt Hatch was being a d*** during his post-fight handshake attempt with the now-former champ. Seemingly the bad blood here is not totally finished.

In summation, Martinjak victory celebration plans included drinking one beer then taking a shower. He said his hand might be broken and wants a bit of a vacation after a ton of training through this pair of Hatch bouts.
