IGNITION: IDENTITY VERIFIED
I TIMOTHY 3:1-10
“This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given too much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless.

I. WHO’S THAT? WHO’S THERE? (ROM. 12:1-2)
• GOOD MORNING! I AM GLAD THAT YOU ARE HERE TODAY!
• TODAY WE TAKING A LOOK AT A LETTER THAT WAS SENT BY THE APOSTLE PAUL TO HIS SON IN THE FAITH…TIMOTHY!
• AS WE LOOK AT OUR TEXT TODAY, LET’S LOOK AT THE MESSAGE ITSELF!
• PAUL MENTIONS THAT THOSE THAT ARE STRIVING, OR FEELING CALLED TO THE POSITION OF PASTOR, ARE BEING CALLED TO A GOOD THING!
• WHY S THIS CONSIDERED TO BE BE A GOOD THING?
• WHO IS CALLED TO THIS CALLING? WHAT IS SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE OF THIS?
• LISTEN TO WHAT PAUL SAYS TO THE CHURCH IN ROME IN (ROM. 12:1-2)!
• DO YOU HEAR THE MESSAGE? LISTEN TO WHAT JESUS SAYS IN (MATT. 22:1-14)

II. THIS IS THE MESSAGE WE BRING TO YOU! (I JOHN 1:4-10)
• AS WE CONTINUE TO EXAMINE OUR TEXT TODAY, WE SEE THAT THERE ARE MORE VITAL POINTS FOR US TO SEE.
• PAUL INFORMS TIMOTHY THAT THERE WAS A MESSAGE THAT HE HAD FOR HIM TO SHARE AND GIVE TO THE CHURCH.
