20 Judaism and Islam

Judaism and Islam share many structural elements. The Torah is equivalent to the Koran, the Mishnah corresponds to the Hadith and the meaning of the word “Halakha” is the same as “Sharia”.

The leader of the the Jewish community in Babylonia changes from the Jewish King to the “Gaon” who were the spiritual leaders and scholars of the community. The ideal Muslim leader served as a warrior, a spiritual leader and as king.
