➡️ What is Shock?
Shock is a condition in which perfusion to the tissues and vital organs is inadequate to meet metabolic needs. Life cannot be sustained without adequate blood flow to the tissues. Because, our tissues need oxygen, and oxygen just so happens to be transported in red blood cells while bound to hemoglobin. Shock is a potentially life-threatening state that requires immediate medical attention as the patient can deteriorate rapidly. Permanent damage to internal organs can occur due to the lack of oxygen.

➡️ Types of Shock:
▪ Cardiogenic
▪ Hypovolemic
▪ Anaphylactic
▪ Neurogenic
▪ Septic
▪ Vasogenic
▪ Traumatic

Each type falls under a different category depending on how the blood flow is affected. To keep this video short, we're not going to go into detail about all the different types. We'll save that for another video. But for this one, we just wanted to cover the medical definition and provide you with a brief overview of this topic.
