When Summer Pruning is Best
Even as we're faced with the long and hotter days of summer, it totally makes sense to prune your roses, other spring blooming shrubs and perennials. For repeat bloomers, this will help speed a return to flowering. For once-bloomers, it's a good time to address size, shape and health - and still give time for the plant to ripen stems for flowering the following spring.
