Epic Battle Fantasy 4 (PC) - Epic Mode - Part 25: Protector Miniboss Fight (All Challenges On)

After reaching Godcat's lair at the top of the Temple, you can now use all four orbs from the area to unlock another door. To do it, go to the front entrance and take the two orbs there. Then take the back entrance in Goldenbrick Resort after unlocking it, and grab the other two orbs in the switch puzzle screen. Then go to the screen with a locked door and four pedestals and place all four orbs on the four pedestals to open the door. Inside this door is another optional legacy miniboss, the Protector from Epic Battle Fantasy 3!

Like in EBF3, this boss comes with four rune minions that can buff it, as well as stun and dispel one of your party members. You can Syphon them to stop their buffing, but you'll want to finish them off all at once by your own hand because they can self-destruct at low HP for massive damage, and when the Protector re-summons them, he'll always shoot out four of them with any excess (if one or more runes are still alive when he does it) hitting your entire party for massive damage.

The Protector also has a deadly charge attack where it stores energy one turn and then blasts you the next. Be sure to keep an Ancient Monolith summon ready at all times for that attack.

As usual, get your buffs up to start, then Syphon the runes to stop them from buffing the enemy party. Use AOE attacks to take out the runes and inflict the Debuff Trifecta (Weaken, Curse, Tired) on them and the Protector, and you should be good. Honestly, getting this fight started is the hardest part.
