Russian Defence Ministry inspected the driving training & field firing exercises by T-90 tank crews

08.07.23 - Russian Defence Minister General of Army Sergei Shoigu inspects organisation of combat training for military personnel under contract in newly formed formations and military units at training grounds in Southern Military District

▫️ The servicemen have tactical and specialised training, medical training, firearms exercises, driving combat and special equipment, as well as communication issues. The course of intensive training of contract servicemen at the training grounds lasts for 38 days.

▫️ The Head of the Russian Defence Ministry inspected the driving training and field firing exercises by T-90 Proryv tank crews. The crews are also trained on modern interactive simulators which enable them to practise all the elements of combat training.

▫️ The servicemen noted the high performance of the combat vehicles, the accuracy of firing and the ease of operation.

▫️ Representatives of the Southern Military District command reported to Sergei Shoigu that all the exercises at the training grounds are conducted under the guidance of the officers with combat experience gained during the special military operation. Motorised rifle, tank and artillery units are being trained at the training range simultaneously.

▫️ Combat cohesion of the units is currently underway. Earlier, all the military personnel, that signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence, had already undergone single training for a fortnight. Upon completion of training at the District's training ranges, the personnel will head to their designated areas where the combat readjustment will continue as part of the military units.

▫️ All the training is conducted on new military equipment and in modern outfit. The trainees carry out firing exercises using various types of weapons, practise elements of defence against enemy fire, and the skills of defeating Western-manufactured weaponry.

▫️ The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation personally checked the skills of contract servicemen in conducting combat operations in various environments, including urban combat.

▫️ The Head of the Main Combat Training Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel General Ivan Buvaltsev reported to Sergei Shoigu that during the training special attention is paid to conveying theoretical knowledge of defeat of enemy military equipment to servicemen based on relevant training and methodological documents and memos prepared on the basis of experience of the special military operation.
