Rio's First Champions

This 2023 season will be the 50th anniversary of Rio Hondo Prep's first CIF Championship in school history. Back in 1973, the Kares were coming off of a heartbreaking Runner Up finish the year prior where they scored more touchdowns than the team that beat them. They played Six Man Football in those days, but the program has come a long way since then. Today, we are joined by three members of that team who still cherish hanging that first banner for Rio Hondo Prep. Our special guests are John Martin, Charlie Parsons, and Jim Parker. A half-century is a long time, but we will never forget the men who laid the foundation of RHP Football.
