That Your Joy May Full

So everything that John has written in the first three verses, drills down to one purpose: that your joy may be full. Jesus Christ, Who has always existed, Who has been seen and heard and handled, Who you are able to have fellowship with, And you are able to have fellowship with fellow disciples, because of Jesus Christ and your growing knowledge of Him, all of these things were written by John so that your joy may be full. Jesus Christ is the source of your joy. The amazing thing about joy, is that because it is from Jesus Christ, you can have joy even in the times of deepest sorrow or pain.
