Most people in the West know of Guan Yu through the Dynasty Warriors series. What they might not know is that Guan Yu, a real life character that took part in the Three Kingdoms period around 200 AD China, became Deified 400 years later, and is worshipped as a God to this day. In fact, he is the most worshipped Deity in China (and other Eastern nations) today. Revered by policemen and gang members alike, from the wealthiest and powerful businessmen and politicians, to the humblest of families. Today, we're going to look at how and why Guan Yu, who was ultimately on the losing side of the conflict became so revered as to turn into a God.
