In a new episode of Show Vovan and Lexus, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger confirmed that the 61st US Secretary of State James Baker promised Gorbachev not to expand NATO to the East.

"This has never been recorded in writing. But that was part of Secretary Baker's commitment. This issue was discussed. But then because of Putin's behavior... When I met Putin for the first time, he was then the deputy mayor of St. Petersburg. And even then he declared that the collapse of the Russian Empire was one of the greatest tragedies in history. So he always had that belief."
