All the way back in the early 2000s when I first discovered that there were people writing intelligent criticism of hip hop music on the internet (no caps), David Drake was one of the first bloggers I discovered by way of http://www.somanyshrimp.com . I've always followed David and his career and was lucky enough to get him to in the studio for a chat while he was in LA recently in which we discussed hip hop, journalism, their intersection, Chief Keef and Chicago at length.
