The Amarna Letters

In this one minute video, we dive into the Amarna Letters, a collection of clay tablets discovered that date back to ancient Egypt. These tablets contain letters exchanged between the pharaohs of Egypt and the kings and chiefs of other ancient Near Eastern cultures. We examine the theory that the Habiru, a term used in the letters to describe a group of people, could actually be the Hebrews. Through analyzing the context and language used in the letters, we consider the possibility that these letters provide evidence for the existence of the Hebrew people in ancient times.
