Roadrailers : is this the end of an Era ?

I heard a rumor that the last line to run Roadrailers were stopping the operation sometime in July of 2023, well I could not take the risk of that rumor being true. I just had to see them one more time, So the wife and I traveled to Peru Indiana to catch one, this is the result. I hope you enjoy what could be the end of an Era.

Triple Crown, a subsidiary of Norfolk Southern Railway, remains a user of RoadRailer transportation as of 2023

A RoadRailer is a trailer or semi-trailer that can be hauled on roads by a tractor unit and then by way of a fifth wheel coupling, operate in a unit train on railway lines. The RoadRailer system allows trailers to be pulled by locomotives without the use of flatcars, instead attaching trailers directly to bogies.
