By now you’ve probably heard that the Ukraine wants to become a NATO member. Not ‘somewhere down the road’…but now. Russia is dead set against having NATO members on its borders. As far as they’re concerned, it’s bad enough that Sweden has been voted in. The idea that the Ukraine might be allowed in too, seems to be far too much for the Russians to accept. Only a few months ago, the US said that it would never happen…but now they’re vacillating. The only country having serious concerns is Germany. They believe that if the Ukraine becomes a member state it will draw all of Europe into a shooting war with Russia. Where is this going? What can we expect next?
