Germany's Nordic Volunteers In Operation Barbarossa

During the Second World War 100,000's of foreigners, if not millions willingly volunteered to fight for Adolf Hitler's Germany. Most were on the Eastern Front and this was the case for the most famous of them all, the SS Wiking. The Wiking was made up of different regiments, one being the Westland full of Dutchmen and Flemings and the other being the Nordland, the topic of this video. Norwegians, Finns, Swedes, Danes, Icelanders and even a Faroe Islander volunteered to this regiment and were there right at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa.
