She Tried To Save A BABY but It Was A TRAP | Carlethia Russell

Police are asking the public to do everything they can in locating a woman who was abducted after calling 911 to report seeing a child alone on I-459.

According to multiple reports, at 9:34 p.m. Thursday, Hoover police received a call from 25-year-old Carlethia Nichole “Carlee” Russell. Russell told officers that she saw a toddler alone and walking on the side of I-459.

Per the reports “Russell stopped to check on the child and called a family member to report the same details, Lowe said. The family member lost contact with her, but the line remained open.” Her family says the person on the phone with her heard a scream.

Police who were already on their way to the scene located her belongings and her vehicle but were unable to locate Russell and the child she saw. Her phone and Apple Watch were left in the vehicle and her wig was reportedly removed from her head.

Russell is a Black female, 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and white Nike shoes. Her hair may be in a braided down pattern. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Brad Fountain at 205-444-7562.
