Top Reasons to Choose Windows 10 Over Windows 11
While Windows 11 offers several new features and improvements over Windows 10, there are still some reasons why one might choose Windows 10 over Windows 11. Here are a few:
Compatibility: Windows 10 has been around for a while and has established a large user base. It is compatible with a wide range of hardware and software, including older devices and programs that may not be fully compatible with Windows 11. If you rely on certain legacy software or hardware, sticking with Windows 10 might be the more practical choice.
Stability and maturity: Windows 10 has undergone years of development and updates, making it a stable and mature operating system. It has gone through extensive bug fixes and performance improvements, which means it is generally less prone to compatibility issues and crashes compared to a newly released operating system like Windows 11.
System requirements: Windows 11 has stricter hardware requirements compared to Windows 10. It requires a compatible 64-bit processor, secure boot, TPM 2.0, and specific minimum RAM and storage capacities. If your current device doesn't meet these requirements, you may have to upgrade your hardware to run Windows 11, whereas Windows 10 can still run on older or less powerful hardware.
Familiarity: Windows 10 has a user interface that many people are already familiar with. Windows 11 introduces a new centered Start Menu, taskbar changes, and other visual updates. While these changes may be appealing to some, others may prefer the familiarity and consistency of the Windows 10 interface, especially if they have been using it for a long time.
Enterprise compatibility: Windows 10 has been widely adopted by enterprises and organizations. These environments often have complex software and hardware setups that require extensive testing and compatibility checks before upgrading to a new operating system. Windows 10 provides a stable and reliable platform for enterprise users, and many organizations may choose to stick with it until they can properly evaluate and transition to Windows 11.
It's important to note that Windows 11 does come with several new features, such as an improved UI, enhanced gaming capabilities, and better support for touch and pen input. However, depending on your specific needs and circumstances, Windows 10 might still be a viable and practical choice over Windows 11.
