You want to know how to make a swordfishing weight? There are basically 4 things you need.

1. lead
2. A way to melt the lead
3. a lead weight mold
4. A hook (or some loop to attach the fishing line to)

You can make a fishing weight for free or even make a free fishing weight if you know where you can get free lead. And you can use this free lead weight and fishing mold to make a deep dropping weight or make swordfish weight.

How to make a free deep dropping weight and how to make a free swordfishing weight are the same method. The fishing weight mold is a can. If you want a 8.2 weight use a full 12oz can. If you only want a 4 pound lead weight then use just half a can as your free fishing mold.

Well I guess it's not 100% free to use a booze can as a free fishing weight mold. But let's be real.. you're buying that drink anyways!

These 4-8 pound lead weights are great for swordfishing and deep dropping. You can even use smaller cans to make snapper fishing weights and whatever you can come up with! So when you make a lead fishing weight, don't spend a ton of money at the store and make your own lead weight molds for fishing. Get your own cheap or free lead and save a ton of money next time you go swordfishing or deep dropping for fish.
