In this fishing video:

I start off this video doing some shore fishing here in Vero Beach, Florida. I am using squid and clam chunks as bait on my pompano rig. I prefer to use sand fleas but I didn't see any while beach fishing the first day. I have seen people make catch n cook videos with sand fleas, can you believe that?!

I catch a lot of sail catfish while beach fishing for pompano. I just want a big pompano! No more catfish! I must have caught 16 catfish with my friend before calling it a day. I was even considering making a catfish catch and cook video but NO I will keep fishing until we get a pompano.

Eventually I come back to the beach with my brother Alex and our friend Tyler. This time we take a sand flea and put it on the pompano rig. It doesn't take but 10 minutes to catch the first fish. It's a Jack! At least that is better than a catfish.

Then we I least expect it my brother reels in a JUICY Florida pompano of the beautiful beach of Vero Beach. What a great day here on the South Florida Fishing Channel. I hope you learned something on how to catch pompano. Basically keep trying and try out different baits on your pompano rig, cast it out and wait.

I fillet the pompano 'accidentally cutting myself' and then start the catch and cook part of this fishing episode. I cook the pompano with butter, oil pepper, salt and some whole garlic cloves. Brown both sides of the pompano and then serve with some lemon!
