Slow day of Fishing Beats a Good Day at Work {catch and cook} kind of?

The saying goes that a slow day of fishing beats a good day at work. I personally love work so not sure if I 100% agree. BUT I can agree that a slow day fishing with friends with a catch and cook is awesome!

In this fishing catch and cook video:

Tyler and I head to the beach shores of Vero Beach, Florida. The main goal was to catch pompano. But quickly our beach fishing expedition turned into a mess of seaweed. I really do not like seaweed at the beach when shore fishing. The seaweed gets tangled in your pompano rigs and will quick turn any day of fishing into a non- catch and cook kind of day...

We keep fishing the beach and try walking up the beach a half mile to get rid of the seaweed. Nope, there is seaweed everywhere and this catch n cook is starting to look bleak. Tyler did manage to catch a few mackerel. But the mackerel were pretty small so we threw them back into the ocean.

What do we do now in Vero Beach? What can Florida give us now? I have an idea! Tyler and I head to Round Island State Park. Round Island is only a few minutes south of me on the riverside. So now we are fishing the indian river on paddleboards.

It was a little windy for paddleboard fishing. Oh boy... This catch and cook does NOT look good. Tyler mentions something about the annual beer fest here in Vero Beach on Royal Palm Point. Beer Fest you say? Now i'm interested.

Well if we aren't going to catch and cook some fish today we might as well catch a buzz and eat some cooked chicken! Despite not catching any fish I still had an amazing time beach fishing and paddleboard fishing the indian river.
