Remembering Our Beloved Colleague Elise Finch
In the wake of heartbreaking news, we mourn the loss of our cherished team member, Elise Dione Finch Henriques. It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a dear friend and colleague who has been an integral part of WCBS for 16 years.
Elise began her journey with us in 2007, serving as the weekend meteorologist. Over the years, she consistently showcased her dedication and passion for her craft, earning the respect and admiration of her peers. Recently, she graced the morning news alongside Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge, and in September, she joined Cindy Hsu on the 9 am newscast. Elise's unwavering commitment to delivering accurate and insightful weather reports made her a beloved figure in the lives of countless viewers.
While Elise's professional achievements are commendable, it is her presence within the community that truly set her apart. Her warm and genuine nature resonated with everyone she encountered, both in her hometown of Mount Vernon and beyond. Elise was not only an exceptional journalist but also an exceptional human being, constantly using her platform to uplift and empower others.
In the midst of her professional accomplishments, Elise held an even more profound role as a mother and wife. She was a source of unwavering love and support for her daughter Grace and her husband, Graig Henriques, who is a talented photojournalist at WCBS. Elise's dedication to her family was exemplary, and her love radiated through every aspect of her life.
Today, as we grapple with the heartbreaking news of Elise's passing, we find ourselves searching for answers. Elise left us all too soon, departing from this world at the age of 51. The cause of her death remains unknown, casting a shadow of sorrow over our grieving hearts. We are left with a void that can never be filled, a testament to the impact Elise had on our lives and the indelible mark she left behind.
In our collective sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared with Elise. Her infectious smile, her genuine kindness, and her unwavering dedication will forever remain etched in our hearts. Elise Finch was more than a colleague; she was a shining beacon of light in our lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we navigate the difficult days ahead, let us remember Elise with fondness and honor her memory by embracing the qualities she embodied. Let us be kinder, more compassionate, and more dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those around us. Elise's legacy serves as a reminder that our time here is precious and should be spent uplifting one another.
In closing, let us extend our deepest condolences to Elise's family, friends, and loved ones. May they find strength in the outpouring of love and support from the community during this trying time. Elise, you will be missed beyond measure, but your spirit will continue to inspire us as we carry your memory in our hearts.
Rest in peace, dear Elise Finch.
