In accordance with the February 4, 2019 Joint Statement Abu Dhabi Agreement between Pope Francis and Muslim leaders, an interfaith center with a synagogue, church, and mosque was opened in 2022 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. In an article in the Islamic Newspaper of July 3, 2023, commemorating this event, the Pope said, "There is no such thing as a false religion, because diversity of faith is part of God's will!" and strongly promotes the ecumenical = religious unity movement. Is this really the right path? We will read it from a biblical perspective.
2019年2月4日の教皇フランシスコとイスラムの指導者との共同声明アブダビ合意に基づき、2022年、アラブ首長国連邦の首都アブダビにシナゴーグ・教会・モスクが併設された異宗教センターが開設されました。それを記念した2023年7月3日のイスラム新聞の記事の中で、教皇は｢信仰の多様性は神の意志の一部であるから、偽りの宗教というのは存在しない!!」と語り、エキュメニカル＝宗教一致運動を強力に推進しています。本当に正しい道なのでしょうか？聖書の観点から読み解いていきます。
