Do I Have a Good CTA Injury Case? [Call 312-500-4500]

In this video, CTA injury lawyer Scott DeSalvo talks about how to figure out if you have an okay or even good case against the CTA, or whether you might have a bit of a challenge on your hands.

Here are three of the most important things to look for.

First, did you report the injury to the driver, was a report made, and/or did you leave the scene of the injury in an ambulance? Any paperwork which document that the incident occurred made close in time to the injury really helps, because CTA like to deny that injuries happened if they can get away with it.

Second, do you have witnesses whose identity is known to you. Most people ride the CTA by themselves, and even if some stranger helps them, it is rare to get their contact information. If you have a witness to what happened, that is truly helping your cause and improving your chances at a fair outcome and full compensation for your injuries.

Third, do you have injuries that directly and clearly stem from an accident or event on the CTA? In other words, claimed injuries which you first get medical care for days or weeks after an undocumented incident on a CTA bus or train — that makes the case really hard. But if you go to the doctor right away with a copy of a CTA incident report in your hand, it is more likely that the doctors will document your medical file properly.

Years ago, CTA cases were more likely to resolve fairly. These days, with budget shortfalls, the CTA is going to make us prove our case. If you keep these gators in mind, you help your chances.
